Frank Hauck lived in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York before joining the U.S. Army in World War II. He was with the 278th Signal Pigeon Company. He recorded his carrier pigeon activities in his European Theater Operation Log and in the back of an address book. They trace his journey to Gulfport, Mississippi in 1943 on to Camp Kilmer in Edison, NJ through to Germany and the disbandonment of the 278th on October 12, 1945.
